I am a transplant to Minnesota and have lived here for 25 years. I have a wonderful husband, one living child and one deceased, both who are on the spectrum, three dogs, a cat and one pet hedgehog. I was diagnosed as being on the spectrum when I was 46. Better late than never! When I am not immersing myself in autism, I enjoy long distance running, reading, training dogs, riding my unicycle and hanging out with my family. I began my teaching career in 1997. Currently, I am an autism advocate and consultant. I have written a book composed from this blog, Not Your Ordinary Autism Story, and I hope to have it published in the coming year.
