Dear Ravi!
We did it! Last night ended two years of trauma and pain. The democrats swept both the House and the Senate. Our beloved state of Minnesota is a deep beautiful blue. In our little neighborhood, we had over 72% of the population turn out to vote. This was more voters than in 2024. This is not just a blue wave; this is a blue tsunami. I wept for joy when an African American woman won the Governor’s seat in Georgia. Georgia! Things are still too close to call in Mississippi and Alaska, but ballots are still being counted. Ravi, my love, I don’t think I have been so happy since Obama won the Oval Office in 2008. This is amazing. I may have looked like just another dog walker when I was outside with the dogs but inside, I was dancing, bad knee and all! The dogs are caught up in the general merriment and enthusiasm and are very happy too.
This is just a short note today, my son, a note to tell you that democracy prevailed. That voters stood up and said NO to Trump. I can go tutor tomorrow and not worry that Michelle Tafoya will take away free breakfast and lunch from students. I know that all the Minnesotans who marched in subzero temps during Metro Surge were heard. The energy and outrage from those marches turned into the tsunami that showed up last night. The fight is not over. The fight has just begun, but saggy yam tits has lost all of his power. The energy is on the correct side of humanity. Ravi, I know that you are rejoicing in heaven. I love you forever. Mom.
